well,,, the Diamond prices depends on 3 aspects:
the cut,,the purity(clarity) and the color,,,, it is impossible to determine the price without knowing those three aspects + of course the weight of the single stone in crates,,,,then the Diamond with an INTERNATIONAL certificate has better resell price than the one without (most likely the one without is blood diamond -long story)… most the stones with certificate can be sold back to the company which issues the certificates,, Not less than the buying price (Gazan as an example : international diamond trader/certificate issuer..)

I have been living in Guinea?south Africa, then Belgium and Holland,,the first ones are the biggest producers of diamond,, the seconds are big in trading them,, Not showing up! but I do can with some limits know about Diamonds,, There is one more aspect decide the price of course,,,which is the Crown depth to the pavilion depth,,(as the crown is the part shown outside the ring,,if it is bigger of course that mean that the stone is (more expensive)(beside the crown angle as well),,, anyway with suitable (loupe ) I can see the color, the cut easy,, as for clarity,,it is very difficult to know the difference between the perfect stone (F or the IF ) and the Vvs1 (no flawless. or very very small imperfiction)…

Now last year In Belgium( and that is almost in all the world) one carat stone,,, colorless, VVs1 brilliant round cut,,, was in between 4000/3500 euro
By attention, the fact that the one carat is X (le) does not means that 1/2 is 1/2X,,, it does not work that way
as the bigger the diamond is the rare it is,,, so if the 1/2 carat =x le,, that may mean the one carat is 3/or 4 X,,,but again it depends on lots of aspects as I mentioned above

how to make wooden wedding Rings?
i kinda jumped the gun on the last qustion i asked about making wooden wedding rings but there were a lot of great answers but none seemd to work i have been to allmost every store in chicago and no one seems to know what or understand what i am trying to do. i want to learn on how to make wooden rings, tools,machines,or just plane bits. and all the reseach on the internet has gone now were, so to my fellow woodwroks and others please help.
Pick a wood that will last a while, like Oak. You can get nice pieces of wood from hobby shops or hardware stores and cut them out with hole saws. After that, sand them down until you like the texture and thickness then coat them with linseed oil, polyurethane, or butcher’s wax.
But make sure you’re not allergic to those products…especially the oil. You might want to stain them first, too. Try a few, see what works.
This is a nice idea; mining gold is horrifically bad for the environment. Fields with some gold dust are covered with cyanide treatments to leech out the gold; everything else is laid to waste forever. Hardly the way to commemmorate a marriage.

Best place to buy Engagement Rings?
We are looking for an Engagement Ring that is 18K white gold with certified Diamonds. I know that zales does have some nice rings in their celebration collection but I would like to know where else I can find them.
How was your experience with buying your ring on blue nile? they have wonderful rings but I am scared of how the ring will turn out.
I was actually going to recommend Blue Nile. I just bought my Wedding Band from them and their service is INCREDIBLE! I love the ring even more than I thought I would, and it arrived w/in 36 hrs of ordering (I’m in Canada). They do have a 30 day return policy so you can take it home and think about it, and they also offer free resizing.
For example, I think I will need my Wedding Ring resized before June, but I bought it early because it was on sale. I’ve been losing weight, and the ring I ordered already feels loose (I just measured my finger a few weeks ago). When I contacted them about this, they said my ring cannot be resized, but IF it is in pristine condition to be restocked, they will exchange it for a smaller size well after the 30 day period. How much would it be to take the Diamonds from my old Engagement Ring and set them in a Wedding Band?
My first engagement ring only a cheapy (£99.99) has 3 small set diamonds and i have since been brought another engagement but would particularaly like the diamonds from my first set into my wedding band.
can this be done? what kind of prica am i looking at for this kind of work?

When we flush-set (right into the band, not prong-set) the customer’s diamonds, we charge $55 per stone for the setting charge. Can’t say for sure what UK jewelers would charge but it shouldn’t be much more for small flush-settings. (£25-30)
