Know any good places in Minneapolis to make a custom Engagement Ring from a family heirloom?
I am receiving my great grandmothers Wedding Band and I would like to transform it into an engagement ring but I don’t know of any jewelers in the Minneapolis area that specialize in doing things like that. I want to possibly melt down the metal and use that with the little Diamonds, then put a center stone in it. My boyfriend will be doing all this so I want to send him to a reliable place.
The best place I know of is The Jewelers in St. Anthony, but any independently owned jeweler should be able to do exactly what you want.

My boyfriend gave me two Rings what do you think they mean?
I’ve heard of a promise ring but he never specifically said that’s what they were. The first ring he gave me for christmas on our 3 month. Its aquamarine with Diamonds on the side. When I have some insecure moments he has said things like “I gave you that ring didn’t I” He never told me the meaning. The second ring was for our year and 1/2. I was in a jewelry store joking around with him and said you should buy me a ring and he said pick one. This one was also aqua marine but much bigger with bigger diamonds on the side. Does anyone know what these rings mean? Promise ring or what. I have asked him and he just says “you know what they mean” but I don’t?

Buying an Engagement Ring online? Experience?
I have been searching stores locally for an engagement ring, the prices are too high compared to that of online.
I can get her a much better ring If I buy online, I will make sure the site is reputable, and all of the certificates are valid.
Has anyone done this before? If so what are your experiences?
Also for yearly cleaning and maintenance how will that work?

I purchased by Wedding Band and my spouse’s ring from eweddingbands.com. Everything went well except the sizing. I was in a rush, so I didn’t order their sizing bands, so the Rings were too big because their rings ran quite large.
