The ring was my great-grandmother’s Engagement Ring, and one day I would like to use it as mine, however it’s too big for my pinky finger, and too small for my ring finger. It’s a very intricate ring, it has flowers holding two sapphires on either side of a diamond. I don’t want to ruin the design of it or crack the jewels. Is it possible to have it made one size larger? If not, I’m just going to wear it on a chain when that day comes.

I am trying to pick out an Engagement Ring. My fingers, however, are chubby. I was wondering if anybody could give me advise on what styles of Rings might look better. I don’t like Diamonds, and because of my line of work, having something with a prong setting would just get in the way. When I wear rings that are thin, my fat fingers seem to bulge out on either end. Would thicker be better? What about titanium tension settings?
Yes, I would do a thicker band style ring. If you are thinking of a stone you should go for either a long oval or a marquis shaped stone. They will make your finger appear longer. Titanium metal, in my opinion, you should have no problem with either. Tension settings are alot better than the traditional settings because they don’t get in the way quite as much, but if you have a real strenuous job I would go for just a band ring. Or something else I thought of, they have band rings with stones burnished in the metal so it is smooth and there are no prongs. Hope I helped some and good luck.
