Changing the setting of an Engagement Ring?

I currently have a 1.07 carat Princess Cut Engagement Ring in a tiffany style setting (thin band w/4 prongs). I am interested in getting a cathedral style setting bc I like the look of a thicker band. I was just wondering how long changing a setting usually takes and if I can do this with the size of the diamond. Any help would be great!

The head, which is the prongs, is your setting. Any setting can go on any ring. Whether it looks good or not is up to the style you choose. The whole process take a few hours, depending on how fast and good your jeweler is*. For the diamond I would suggest a band that is 1/2 the size of your stone so it doesn’t look off balance.

*If you go to a store like Kay Jewelers it will take them a lot longer to do. If you go to a privately owned store it can take a few hours to a couple days because they have less projects to work on so they can focus on yours more.
