Why is my white Gold Engagement Ring so scratched after 3 weeks?
I have washed up 3 times, do an office job and haven’t done anything manual. I have been wearing it for 3 weeks and it has scratches all over it. I am aware that 18ct gold is softer but this soft? My mum wears hers to do everything in and its in a better state than mine!!!
Are there any stronger coatings that I can have it re-plated with?
Its such a shame as my two old silver Rings look as good as my hundreds of pounds worth of diamond ring…..
I had if bought for me by my fiancee from a local jewellers.
18k is supe rsoft and will scratch and bend soo easily.
I have a 14k white gold one and it scratches super fast.
I would just advise you to get it dipped in rhodium so that it looks new and scratch-less.
Mine is dipped every couple of months.
